Elias Pettersson, drafted 5th overall in 2017, bursted into the league this year with 5 goals and 8 points in 5 games. The 6’2 175 pound forward is currently leading the Canucks and all rookies in points.
Yesterday it was announced that Pettersson would miss a minimum of 7-10 days with a concussion. This will now be the second year in a row that a Canucks rookie was leading the way in rookie scoring just to go down with injury. And since Brock Boeser’s injury he has not quite been the same dynamic player yet this season.
Let’s hope that the injury to this young forward does not affect his abilities, and he is able to heal fully and quickly.
Concussions are a serious injury and we know how it affected superstar Sidney Crosby for years, lets hope this isnt the start of many for Pettersson.
