HOCKEY GM ADVICE

We are a few weeks away from December 1st which is when if Nylander is not signed by the Leafs he can no longer play this season. Well, Leafs fans will never like the idea, but it might be time to trade the young star. Here is a trade proposal that could benefit both teams.

While it is still taboo to do a trade within the conference, let alone the division, desperate times call for desperate measures. Who i believe the trade should be made with is the Florida Panthers, who’s start to the season has them tied for last place, so they could probably use a shake up.

Wth the signing of Tavares, the leafs enter win now mode, with their players young and skilled and there wont be a better time to win then in these next 1-3 years.

The Leafs will be sending William Nylander, Connor Brown, Josh Leivo and prospect Timothy Liljegren (with the signing of Rasmus Sandin makes him more expendable) to the Florida Panthers.

What will the Leafs get in return? Coming back is Aaron Ekblad, Dennis Malgin, Troy Brouwer & a 2nd round pick.

Why would both teams do this? Well lets take a look at potential lines and we can see why:

Leafs new lineup:

Marleau - Matthews - Kapanen

Hyman - Tavares - Marner

Johnsson - Kadri - Malgin

Lindholm - Gauthier - Brouwer

Rielly - Ekblad

Gardiner - Zaitsev

Dermott - Hainsey

Panthers new lineup:

Dadanov - Barkov - Nylander

Huberdeau - Trochek - Hoffman

Vatrano - Bjugstad - Brown

Leivo - Lammikko - Sceviour

Yandle - Petrovic

Matheson - Weegar

Kiselevich - Liljegren

Leafs get some strength to push back in the playoffs and that top 2 right handed defencemen they have always needed, and while the Panthers take a hit on the defence side, they massively improve their right wing!
