Happy New Year to all! Like most of you, I’ve been enjoying the holiday season with friends and family. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to do a lot of writing for Wheel House Hockey, but we’re officially back! Let’s get the ball rolling again with a classic – my NHL DFS lineup. This is a good way to break the ice and get back into regular posts. So let’s get it.

Nathan MacKinnon, COL, $8,100

MacKinnon has been sort of a staple in my DSF rosters over the last month or so – so he’s staying. MacKinnon continues his outstanding year for the Avs and he is certainly someone you are going to want in your lineups. MacKinnon has 4 goals and 9 assists (13pts) in his last 10 games, where he has also been getting shots on goal at a ferocious rate (5.4 shots per game). He’s got a high floor and very high ceiling for points, which makes him worth paying up for tonight as the Avs host the Rangers.

Alex Kerfoot, COL, $4,100

Kerfoot is the middle man on the Avs’ second line and also sees time on the teams’ second Powerplay unit. Kerfoot is coming off a 2-assist night against the Sharks on Wednesday where he also put up just under 17 minutes of ice time. Kerfoot has been getting more and more ice time as the season has progressed and I see that continuing tonight.

Teuvo Teravainen, CAR, $5,200

Teravainen is at the EXCELLENT price tonight as the Hurricanes host the Blue Jackets. Teravainen is coming off a game where he had a goal and two assists against the Flyers. In his last 10 games, Teravainen has a +8 rating and 12 points, including 5 goals. At this price, Teravainen is a must-play tonight on your wing.

Chris Kreider, NYR, $5,300

Kreider has now gone two games without a goal (one without a point) after having his four-game goal scoring streak snapped. Just halfway through the season, Kreider is sitting at 20 goals and on pace for over 40 on the season. With 9 points (6 goals) in his last 10 games, Kreider is looking pretty good to get back on the scoring train tonight in Colorado.

Alex Galchenyuk, ARZ, $4,000

Galchenyuk is another guy tonight with an excellent price tag. He just had a 5-game point streak snapped in a 3-1 loss to the Oilers, but still put up 17 minutes of ice time. Galchenyuk can certainly score points (8 in his last 10 games). He is worth the $4,000 on Draftkings tonight.

Nate Schmidt, VGK, $5,300

Schmidt has been one of the more popular Dmen on my DK rosters since he returned from serving his suspension. In 23 games this season, Schmidt has put up 13 points, which is respectable. He’s got 8 points in his last 10 games and I’ve got faith in him to get on the board again tonight in Anaheim.

Michal Kempny, WSH, $4,600

The Czech blueliner on the Washington Capitals are visiting the Dallas Stars tonight. Kempny has been playing on the #1 D pairing in Washington alongside John Carlson. Kempny has picked up 2 goals and 4 points in his last five games and is now on pace for 31 points this season – a career high for Kempny. As long as he is paired with Carlson moving forward, he is certainly playable in DFS.

Pheonix Copley, WSH, $7,500

The young goalie from the North Pole (Alaska) is unbeaten in his last five starts and will look to snap the Caps’ 2-game losing streak tonight against a Stars team that will likely be without captain, Jamie Benn (upper body). In his last nine games, Copley is 7-1-0 with a 2.37GAA and .922Sv%. Copley is a must-start tonight in both season-long leagues and in DFS.

Jonathan Marchessault, VGK, $5,900

Even though he is not matching last year’s 75-point pace, Marchessasult has seemed to have found good chemistry with line mate, William Karlsson. Marchessault still has a relatively high floor as he likes to shoot the puck.

This is simply my opinion and you are not guaranteed to win if you are following this advice. Remember: DFS is gambling. Know your limit, play within it.
