Even with MacKinnon letting me down last Friday, I still had a fairly successful night on Draft Kings as I was able to cash in most of my GPP lineups, coming out positive on the slate.
Did anyone else out there take my tips from Friday? Let me know in the comments!
Anywho… Moving on to tonight’s NHL DFS schedule. Nine games around the league tonight, including a couple of match-ups I’m IN on and a couple I’m definitely OUT on. Let’s start with the forwards:
Dominik Simon, PIT, $4,200
Simon will be a solid value play on the wing tonight. Simon is slated to play alongside the red-hot Sid Crosby tonight in New Jersey, a team that has been struggling as of late, coming off 3 straight losses where they have allowed 18 goals against (6 GAA/gm) and have lost 8 of their last 10 games. Kinkaid is the starter tonight, but both NJ goalies have struggled in their last few games.
Simon is coming off a two-point night against the Coyotes. Look for Simon to get a solid 12-13 minutes of ice-time tonight with most (if not all) of it being along side Crosby.
Nino Neiderreiter, MIN, $3,700
In another game that I can see being high scoring, I’m going to be playing a mini-stack. The Wild have been playing great over their last 10 games, winning 8 of them and 3 straight (on the road too). Nino Niederreiter is another solid value pick for tonight’s home game against the Capitals, who have been struggling between the pipes during the early part of the season. Nino has been on a bit of a tear as of late scoring three points in his last four games and 7 points in his last 10 games. Though not much of a goal-scorer, Nino isn’t afraid to block shots or shoot, making him a good stack with ….
Zach Parise, MIN, $6,200
Parise has scored 3 goals in his last 4 games and continues to shoot the puck at a good rate. Look for Parise and Neiderreiter to connect for at least 1 goal tonight against the Capital’s back-up goaltender.
Sidney Crosby, PIT, $6,800
Crosby was +4 in the Pens’ last game and was on the ice for all four of their goals, while contributing both a goal and an assist. Look for the Crosby-Simon hookup tonight as the two are set to play together on the first line, not to forget about Sid’s time on the strong Pittsburgh Powerplay.
Erik Karlsson, SJS, $4,900
Now, I’m going with EK here almost solely due to the fact the he is priced so low. At the time of writing, the Preds have not yet announced their starter, but due to Rinne starting last night, I am going to assume Saros is getting the nod tonight in San Jose. Karlsson is due and that’s why I’m going with him tonight at this price. Nashville is on a road trip where they’ve travelled from Dallas to Anaheim to San Jose (still a long night on a back-to-back) in the last four days. EK has yet to score this season and hasn’t had a point in over two weeks. Karlsson is my guarantee of the night for at least a point.
Martin Jones, SJS, $7,600
Pick a goalie is usually the toughest decision you will make on any given night. I’m building this lineup for a GPP tonight, so I’m going with a goaltender that will be a little lower on the ownership scale tonight. The Sharks have been playing fairly well over their last few games and with the Preds heading into their 3rd game in 4 nights, they will be a little slower than usual. I’m expecting a lot of shooting from the Preds tonight, which means a lot of saves from the Sharks’ net minder.
That leaves us with a little over $5,500 to spend on average for our last three players (C, D, UTIL). I like to save a little bit of money when it comes to picking my Defensemen, so I’ll likely pay a little less there, allowing me to get another high-end forward in that utility spot. Let me know what lineups you’re looking at tonight!
I’ll be playing this lineup in the $4 NHL $25K Autumn Forecheck, with a couple other lineups in other GPPs and Cash Games. Good luck!
